Ten things to optimise your Facebook profile

Ten Things to have in place to Optimise your Facebook profile
As you start down your road of doing business online.
You need to make sure all your settings in your Facebook account are correct.

(see image below on where to find these settings)

Let’s have a look at them:
π‘π’Šπ’“π’”π’• 𝒂𝒏𝒅 π’Žπ’π’”π’• π’Šπ’Žπ’‘π’π’“π’•π’‚π’π’• π’Šπ’” 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒖𝒕 π’šπ’π’–π’“ π’‘π’“π’π’‡π’Šπ’π’† 𝒐𝒏 𝒂 π’‘π’–π’ƒπ’π’Šπ’„ π’—π’Šπ’†π’˜ π’”π’†π’•π’•π’Šπ’π’ˆ.

Now you would ask why is that important?
Well as you start sending out your requests, your prospects will go into your profile to see what you are all about.
If your profile is not on a public view setting they can’t see anything about you and most likely will not except your request.
This could lead to a loss of potential prospects.

𝑡𝒆𝒙𝒕 π’˜π’π’–π’π’… 𝒃𝒆 “π‘―π’π’˜ 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 π’˜π’Šπ’π’ π’‡π’Šπ’π’… 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒕 π’šπ’π’–”/ 𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒅 π’Žπ’† π’‡π’“π’Šπ’†π’π’… 𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒔?
This setting needs to be on “Everyone”, this way people can connect with you and send you friend requests .
𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒆 π’Žπ’š 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕 ?
This needs to be on “Everyone” as well, so that everyone who connect with you are able to see all your posts which will help promote your business
𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒆 π’šπ’π’–π’“ π’‡π’“π’Šπ’†π’π’…π’” π’π’Šπ’”π’•?
This setting should be “only me”

Main reason is that some of your competitors will go into your profile and friend everyone on your friend list.
Why is bad you ask?
They could potential “steal” your prospects!
You worked hard to build a relationship with them, which would not be good for business.

Let’s move over to Timeline and Tagging settings
Over here there is 4 main things you should look at
𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒏 π’Žπ’š π’•π’Šπ’Žπ’†π’π’Šπ’π’†?
This needs to be “only me”
Reason for this is that if it’s on public/everyone anyone can post things on your timeline. This could lead to people posting irrelevant things on your profile that is not in line with what your business vision is
π‘¨π’π’π’π’˜ 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆 π’šπ’π’–π’“ 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔
This needs to be “on”, the good thing is when people find your content relevant they can share it to their stories/timeline and this would give you extra exposure.
This is a good thing as someone that may not be your friend could then go and see what you do and potentially become a customer
𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’šπ’π’– 𝒂𝒓𝒆 π’•π’‚π’ˆπ’ˆπ’†π’… π’Šπ’ 𝒐𝒏 π’šπ’π’–π’“ π’•π’Šπ’Žπ’†π’π’Šπ’π’†?
This again should be “Everyone”
π‘Ήπ’†π’—π’Šπ’†π’˜ 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 π’•π’‚π’ˆπ’ˆπ’†π’… π’šπ’π’– π’Šπ’ 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 π’‘π’π’”π’•π’Šπ’π’ˆ 𝒐𝒏 π’šπ’π’–π’“ π’•π’Šπ’Žπ’†π’π’Šπ’π’†
This needs to be “on”
Main reason so that should someone tag you into a post that you may not feel is relevant to your business you can then not approve it and it will not feature in your timeline
How would I see who tagged me into their posts?
Go onto your profile on the right where the “3 dots” are is timeline settings. When someone tags you in the posts, go into privacy then activity log. This will show you whom tagged you.
This great feature is helpful so that you can keep your profile as clean and relevant to what you have envisioned for your business.
Lastly let’s look at “Public posts”
𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏 π’‡π’π’π’π’π’˜ π’Žπ’†?
This needs to be on “Public”
Reason is that should someone not be your friend and they can still see what you are posting and could become your friend later on
𝑾𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒏 π’„π’π’Žπ’Žπ’†π’π’• 𝒐𝒏 π’Žπ’š π’‘π’–π’ƒπ’π’Šπ’„ 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒔?
Again needs to be on “Public”
This way anyone of your followers can comment on your posts
