Impostor syndrome.
This is something that affects many of us, regardless of your experience
Whether it's your 9-5 or in your online journey, you feel that you doubt your own accomplishments & capabilities. You feel like you haven't earned anything or you don't deserve the recognition that you get.
Did you come across that already?
It’s important to remember that no matter what our accomplishments or success are, we all still face moments where we doubt ourselves and our capabilities.
The good news is, there are things we can do to help us recognize and manage imposter syndrome.
Let's have a look at some helpful tips.
1. Develop a
realistic perspective.
Really take some time and look at your situation. and be realistic. Don't fool yourself.
2. Practice self-care and self-validation.
It's okay to pat yourself on the back sometimes, say : Hey, that was pretty cool!
You know, we sometimes really forget that it's okay to praise ourselves. We can be so good to criticize ourselves. That is pretty good to remember we have to praise ourselves too.
3. Recognize
that everyone makes mistakes.
4. Be kind to yourself.
5. Ask for help from friends and family.
You'll be surprised if you ask for help
6. Adopt a
growth mindset.
For me, big one in the online marketing, space.
You know, remember that as long as you fail forward, it's okay to fail. Learn and grow. That's the only way that you're gonna succeed
7. Take time
for yourself.
8. Reach out to a qualified mental health professional.
If you really feel that, , you just can't get cope, reach out to a qualified mental health professional, there's no shame in that.
It can definitely help you to talk to someone. Get yourself sorted, there's no reason to struggle alone.
These steps can help you re-frame your mindset so that you can feel positive and empowered. Remember, failure, mistakes and setbacks are part of life's journey. If you have moments where you feel like an impostor, that's okay!
We all have our unique challenges and struggles, and that's nothing to be ashamed of. Learning how to recognize and manage impostor syndrome will help you stay focused and successful in the long run.
Then our other friend - Procrastination
It can sometimes be a real struggle. It can keep you from doing the things that you're supposed to do, that you're gonna feel like you haven't succeeded, makes you feel bad, like you can't do anything.
But it doesn't have to be this way!
There are strategies that you can do that can help against procrastination
So let's take a look.
1. Break down the your task, the bigger task into smaller actionable task.
2. Set smaller time increments, for example, work for 25 minutes and take a five minute break. Small increments helps to increase our. And it's easy if you start, if you know that I only have to do 25 minutes.
3.Set the bar low. It's better to do smaller goals that are easier to accomplish and actually to accomplish them than a big fat another ones.
4. Set a timeline to complete a certain task.
5. Be intentional on where you work and keep your desk organized. Avoid those ugly distractions.
I always say a phone advice, email notification can so easily distract you. Now we are all curious creatures and. If you then, get distracted by a cell phone, WhatsApp voice note or email.It can be hard to get back on track
6. Understand what works based for you.
We are all different, and it's wise to play around understand what works for you and what doesn't.
Remember taking a break is the biggest one, take time to sit back, relax, get, go back refreshed. You know, if you feel that you are losing your, focus.
Don't be too hard on yourself if you find yourself. procrastinating to do certain task.
